Agricole Hospitality has announced that EZ’s Liquor Lounge will open in 3302 White Oak Drive on Monday, October 24 at 2 p.m. Inspired by co-owners Matt Tanner, Morgan Weber, Ryan Pera, and Vincent Huynh’s collective love for a good neighborhood dive, EZ’s is a fun, laid-back bar with a vintage vibe in the heart of Houston’s Heights neighborhood.
“When we decided to open our version of a neighborhood bar, we knew we wanted it to be a place where people want to hang out day and night, with something for everyone. Our hope is that EZs be that cozy, go-to place where you come to watch sports, play games, and be with friends,” says co-owner Matt Tanner.
“It’s been great fun watching this concept come to life – EZ’s is everything we love in a bar with the added bonus of some truly stellar food and drink offerings,” says Morgan Weber, Ryan Pera and Vincent Huynh, owners of Agricole Hospitality. . . “We think it will be a welcome addition to all the exciting things going on in the heights right now, and we hope it becomes a place people will immediately gravitate to as a comfortable, go-to place for regular visits.”
On the menu
Great drinks are first and foremost at EZ. The drinks menu, dreamed up by Matt Tanner, includes well-made classics like The Famous EZ Margarita (Pueblo Viejo Blanco Tequila, Triple Sec, Lime Juice, Salt) and Freezer Martini (London Dry Gin, Vermouth Blend, Olives, Lemon Peel) and cocktails with creative accents like Hillbilly Highball (salted peanut butter bourbon, Mexican Coke, peanuts) and Dulce de Leche Old Fashioned (Very Old Barton Bourbon, Angostura, Dulce de Leche, dark sugar syrup, clarified lemon juice, clarified milk), as well as frozen favorites and rotating daily specials. Ice-cold beers are offered on tap and by the bottle, and a tight selection of red, white, and sparkling wines are available daily.
On the food side, EZ’s menu features no-frills, easy-to-eat bar snacks that include shareable favorites to start your night off like Pimiento Cheese with Hot Pickled Okra and TX Firecrackers, larger bites for a casual dinner featuring hot dogs and chili, featuring standouts like the Caliente Dog (RC Ranch Wagyu, Jalapeno Cheese, Onion, Habanero Honey Mustard, Garlic Celery Spice) and Chili Pies – customizable with Wild Boar Chili con Carne or Golden Veggie Chili – perfect for happy hour or when late-night cravings strike.
Located in a 1950s building right next to Agricole’s beloved Gulf Coast Italian restaurant Coltivare, EZ’s offers Heights residents and visitors the perfect place to start or end the night with stiff drinks, relaxing vibes and good company. Interiors, both fresh and nostalgic, feature plenty of bar seating, high tables, and lounges, plus bold accents like neon wall signs and orange and brown tile flooring.
The individual pieces of the EZs hold special meaning to homeowners and the neighborhood. Standout items include an Alice’s Tall Texan figurine from the legendary Heights bar, now closed, and a self-serve water tap for customers made from a vintage 1950s fridge passed down from Matt’s uncle Tanner, who kept beers ice cold for almost 70 years, first in a bar in Galveston and later in a construction warehouse.
The EZ Liquor Lounge is open Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
