Bow’s huge warehouse that holds all the liquor sold at the state’s 67 liquor stores is about to undergo an expansion.

The 244,000-square-foot DHL distribution center held a ground-breaking ceremony for the addition on Thursday to accommodate growing sales from the state liquor commission.

“Today’s groundbreaking marks an important day, not only for the New Hampshire Liquor Commission and DHL Supply Chain, but also for the State of New Hampshire,” said Liquor Commission Chairman, Joseph Mollica. “This 27,000 square foot expansion, designed to allow us to capitalize on our most popular products, will allow us to continue to bring the best selection and value to the Granite State.”

Seventeen state governments regulate liquor sales and New Hampshire is one of them. State alcohol sales increased 8.2% over the previous five years, from $712.4 million to $771.1 million.

In addition to the expansion, DHL Supply Chain has improved building efficiency through a number of strategic and technological improvements.

“This expansion follows the end of our ninth year of partnership with the New Hampshire Liquor Commission, and since the first year we have focused on improving our operations and efficiency,” said Patrick Kerns, director General of DHL Supply Chain. .
