Dr Robert Woods, PhD, CCC-A, FAAA, ABA, Founder of Speech and hearing associates, has been selected to receive the 2020 New Jersey Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NJSHA) Award of Excellence! This award recognizes the outstanding achievements of a speech-language pathologist or audiologist who has contributed to the field and to the NJSHA for at least 20 years.
The recipient must have been a member of the NJSHA for 20 years, have worked in at least two different contexts and / or roles (e.g. clinical, administrative, academic, research and publication), have served in a voluntary capacity with the NJSHA (as member of the board of directors, committee chair, has served on several committees, etc.) and has demonstrated a significant impact on others through his professional efforts. In addition, the winner will also demonstrate an active pursuit of the lawsuit (in accordance with NJ State Licensing Act and ASHA / AAA CE programs; ACE Awards). Dr. Robert Woods received his Masters and Doctorate degrees. degrees from Purdue University. He was professor of audiology for nine years and assistant professor for seven years at the Graduate School of Columbia University. He was an Assistant Professor of Clinical Audiology at the College of New Jersey and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Doctoral Program in Audiology at Montclair State University. He has lectured extensively in the United States and as a guest speaker in Great Britain, Germany and the Former Yugoslavia on topics ranging from diagnostic audiology to hearing aid fitting and distribution. .
Dr Robert Woods has been elected to several terms to the board of directors of the New Jersey Speech-Language-Hearing Association and has served as chair of the Audiology committee and chair of the ethics committee. He currently serves on the Executive Board of the New Jersey Academy of Audiology. He was elected from New Jersey as legislative counsel to the American Speech and Hearing Association and served on its health care economics committee. Dr. Woods has served as an advisor to industry, insurance companies, school districts, as well as health and government agencies.
