Kum and Go Convenience Stores in Republic, Missouri Offer Amazon Hubs to Stop Porch Hackers

REPUBLIC, Mo. (KY3) – Republic’s Kum and Go convenience stores are using a service to prevent porch hijackers.

Republic’s two convenience stores have approved delivery centers for the program. The program allows any business with a physical location to offer secure package pickup and return to Amazon customers. The self-service terminal will allow you to collect your parcel at the place and time that suits you, even in the evening and on weekends.

“We’ve definitely seen people use it on our end,” said Taylor Boland, Kum and Go. have their parcels sent to a nearby secure location.”

The Kum and Go locations at 638 US 60 and 3049 US 60 in Republic are hubs.

“I live in a fairly secure area, but I’ve heard too many stories. I think it’s really not so safe to have it delivered to my door,” Republic resident Karin Melton said. “If I’m not home and packages are left on the steps, they can be stolen.”

Kum and Go locations in the Republic only work on pickup options.

“As far as our offerings go, we only offer the package pickup option,” Boland said. “Customers can have packages delivered at this time, but we do not process or accept returns.”

If you receive packages at your front door, law enforcement says it’s a good idea to get a doorbell and activate alerts on your phone to know when your package will arrive.
