The Lulu group opens convenience stores during the FIFA World Cup

Doha: With the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 fast approaching with a stellar line-up of top teams from around the world, the region’s leading retailer, Lulu Group, this week opened three convenience stores in metro stations based in Lusail, National Museum and Ras Bu Abboud in final preparation for the launch of the FIFA tournament.

These stores offer a wide range of local and international ranges of “food to go” to serve locals and visitors from around the world using the country’s metro system. Lulu will ensure an uninterrupted supply of high quality products with excellent customer service for the convenience of visitors.

They’ve been arranging extra inventory and snacks and drinks, anticipating the season’s demand from now for two months.

Another 10,750 sqm hypermarket with ample parking was opened yesterday in Barwa Madinatna to extend service to 2022 FIFA World Cup guests and the local community.

This project is located in the middle of an integrated residential city in Al Wakra district with the latest smart city technologies, for families to provide quality life for its residents.

Development that meets the highest standards and specifications, required by the local family residential unit market also includes amenities such as local retail, central retail, kindergartens, small lodges , Main Pavilion, Daily Mosques, Friday Mosque, Substations, Primary Substation, Waseef Building and Sewage Plant.

Additionally, a major hypermarket in Giardino, The Pearl Qatar, is being prepared and ready to be operational by next week, to immediately respond to the inevitable onslaught of football mania.

Throughout the FIFA tournament, Lulu will continue to serve the public with its comprehensive network of stores to make World Cup guests feel at home and to reinforce its commitment to providing the best customer experience.

Lulu, which now operates 19 state-of-the-art outlets in Qatar, has pledged to open more outlets ahead of the FIFA tournament, including the opening of its new hypermarket and department store at Giardino Mall on The Pearl Qatar on November 16, which besides that there will be comprehensive e-commerce and bicycle fast delivery services.

Speaking at the event, Lulu Group International Director Dr Mohamed Althaf said Lulu Group has started opening a number of dedicated stores for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar in the supporters’ accommodation and metro stations, giving them easy access to buy food they like.

“Today we opened an outlet near fan accommodation in Barwa Madinatna. Three convenience stores were also opened this week at metro stations. Other similar outlets will be open soon ahead of the Cup. from around the world to serve the fans at the mega sporting event,” said Dr. Althaf.

He said the dedicated stores are open as part of Lulu’s commitment to providing easy access to food for fans for their convenience and comfort.

Recently, Lulu Group has doubled its e-commerce capacity and express bike delivery services to other Lulu branches including B-Ring Road, Ezdan Oasis, Lusail City, Al Hilal, Barwa City, Bin Mahmoud, Abu Sidra and Lulu Center, Al Rayyan Road.
